J. H. Møller spent a short time at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen before he went to Germany in 1844 spending time in Berlin, Munich and Karlsruhe. He lived in Karlsruhe until 1874, when he returned to his native town Randers in Denmark. Landscape paintings were his main topic especially from the surroundings of Karlsruhe.
On the reverse of the stretcher an exhibition label.
